I always got this dish at a deli where I worked years ago. After I stopped working there, I found a similar recipe and have tweaked it over the years to come up with the perfect Broccoli Slaw. Think spring this week with this perfect spring dish!
- 2 (12 ounce) packages of broccoli coleslaw mix
- 2 bunches of chopped green onion tops
- 2 (3 ounce) packages chicken flavored ramen noodles
- 1 cup plain or lightly salted sunflower seeds
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1 cup of oil
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/2 cup of white vinegar
Crush the ramen noodles in the packages (save the packets) with your hands. Mix the broccoli slaw, crushed noodles, chopped onions, almonds and sunflower seeds together in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the oil, vinegar, sugar and the 2 seasoning packets from the noodles. Add this dressing to the broccoli slaw to taste.
